DANCEATSPELMAN is a three-day collegiate dance experience designed to welcome high school dancers to Spelman College. Through dance technique classes, performances, conversations, campus experiences, and admissions programming, students will have the opportunity to experience dance in a collegiate environment while exploring the connection between movement, identity, culture, and liberation.

I am a Spelman College student and dedicated advocate for holistic wellness, passionate about advancing healing through dance, rehabilitation, and equitable access to movement-based care. My journey began as a dancer, where I experienced the power of movement to restore both the body and mind. That foundation now informs my work as a physical therapy technician and volunteer in clinical settings, supporting patients as they regain mobility and improve quality of life, and shaping my interest in exploring physical rehabilitation for cancer patients.

Beyond the clinic, I lead and create community-centered wellness initiatives. I co-founded DANCEATSPELMAN, a program that has impacted over 100 high school dancers nationwide by expanding access to higher education and professional pathways in dance. As President of the Spelman Dance Student Association (SDSA), I launched Serving Our Community Through Movement, a dance-based wellness program for senior citizens in local senior living homes.

Together, these experiences shape my purpose to advance arts-informed, movement-based cancer rehabilitation that supports mobility, wellness, and inclusive healing.

My name is Jordyn Sanders, and I am a senior at Spelman College. I am a Biology major on the pre-dental track with a specific interest in pediatric dentistry. Through my dental shadowing, I have found that I have an intense interest in the field of dentistry and have a passion for decreasing health disparities in underserved communities. I am seeking internship opportunities that focus on public health and dentistry.

2026 Spelman College Presidential Award for Excellence in Mentorship

CiCi Kelley is an accomplished choreographer, performer, educator, and scholar whose career spans global stages, film, television, commercial campaigns, and higher education. Her performance and choreography credits include work with Beyoncé, Toni Braxton, LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez, and Outkast, as well as appearances in Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied” and the iconic 2009 MTV VMAs performance of “Single Ladies.” Her commercial and entertainment credits include the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, Georgia Lottery, Apple Beats, The General, MTV MADE, and films including Last Vegas, BOLDEN, and Netflix’s The Out-Laws. Kelley also serves as a National Dance Team Choreographer and Adjudicator for Turn It Up Dance Challenge.

A proud Spelman College alumna, Kelley holds a B.A. in Dance Performance & Choreography from Spelman College and an M.F.A. from the University of the Arts. She also holds professional certifications in Trauma & Resilience-Informed Pedagogy for College Student Wellbeing from Florida State University and Women in Leadership from Emory University. Her scholarship centers Black performance, Diasporic Spidering, Black womanhood, griot communication, and Sankofa theory & practice.

Kelley currently serves as a Senior Lecturer, First-Year Advisor, Board Member for The Black Artists Dance Collective, & previously served as the Director of Spelman Dance Theatre from 2023-2026, where she combines professional expertise with a deep commitment to educating and mentoring the next generation of artists & leaders, in addition to developing innovative pedagogical practices & curricula.

Her career reflects a distinctive intersection of performance, choreography, education, leadership, and Black womanist scholarship, positioning her as both an accomplished artist and a dynamic voice in dance practice and higher education.

Most recently, Ms. Kelley received the 2026 Spelman College Presidential Award for Excellence in Mentorship.
